20 Raptor-4 digital high end MC cameras

In autumn 2011, Bohemia Interactive purchased a 20 camera high end motion capture system by Motion Analysis Corp. (their best) after long evaluation of current M.A.C. and Vicon offerings. B.I. now operates three fully functional optical MC systems.

This new MoCap is already in fully operational and allows to improve every aspect of capturing process once again. We extended MC volume to roughly 64 square meters, total maximum limited by the studio floor space; may be even larger in a larger hall. Its high resolution cameras allow for small markers, typically their diameter is 12.5mm or less, making them less obtrusive.

With premiere of LucasFilm's new feature film Red Tails, Bohemia Interactive revealed they provided motion capture services for Universal Production Partners, one of leading European post-production houses, who finished more than 500 shots of the movie. During the session, we recorded many moves for digital crowd characters used throughout the movie. We thank Viktor Müller, UPP's lead supervisor, for great co-operation.

We are pleased to announce that there is a second motion capture setup available in our studio thanks to our valued partner Optitrack. The Arena Expression Foundation setup is specifically suited for facial motion capture and exports to various animation systems used to process facial MC data, including Softimage|FaceRobot suite, DAZ studio and also to Autodesk MotionBuilder (custom enhanced with Optitrack's own plug-ins).
